GPT-4.1 mini Replaces GPT-4o mini in ChatGPT

- GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini and GPT-4.1 nano were first released together in the OpenAI API on 14 April 2025, as multimodal proprietary models succeeding GPT-4o and GPT-4.5[3]
- Reception was mixed: Zvi Mowshowitz praised the model but criticised the limited safety testing, and outside teams found evidence it may be more misaligned than GPT-4o[3]
