The second "season" for Microsoft's Xbox One revival of the Killer Instinct fighting game franchise will add eight new characters to its ranks.

Killer Instinct: Season 2 launches globally on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, exclusively on Xbox One; Microsoft Studios and Iron Galaxy announced the date on 12 August 2014 around Gamescom, via a post on the official Killer Instinct forums^[1][3][4][5]
Pricing: individual fighters $4.99 / £3.99 / €4.99; the Combo Breaker pack $19.99 / £16.99 / €19.99 for all eight new fighters; and the Ultra Edition $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99^[1][3][4][5]
The Ultra Edition adds alternate fighter costumes and accessory packs - 16 accessory sets and eight costumes by Kevin Bayliss - plus the Xbox One port of Killer Instinct 2 Classic, first released in 1996 and now with online multiplayer and 1000 Gamerscore^[1][3][5]
Buying the Ultra Edition between September 23 and October 14 gives early access to TJ Combo, along with Killer Instinct 2 Classic^[1][4][5]
