MISO generator interconnection queue milestones and GRE transmission planning establish COD for June 2027.[1]
Great River Energy (GRE) is deploying the 100 MW / 400 MWh utility-scale Benton Battery Energy Storage System near the Benton County Substation in Minden Township, Benton County, Minnesota. Tracked in the MISO queue and interconnecting directly to the regional 115 kV grid anchoring the joint Northland Reliability Project corridor, the four-hour battery installation stabilizes bulk power flows and absorbs abundant central Minnesota wind and solar generation.
