  Airline Ratings^[1], 17 Dec 2021: "On Thursday afternoon at 16.41 CET, the last aircraft MSN272, the 251st delivered to an airline, and the 123rd ... to ... Emirates rotated on the runway ... at Hamburg-Finkenwerder"; Airbus^[2] lists "December 2021 End of A380 production and last A380 delivery".

  On 16 December 2021 Emirates received the last Airbus A380, A6-EVS, its 123rd, ending 14 years of deliveries. The ceremony was muted and the jet left Hamburg-Finkenwerder at 16:41 CET for Dubai.

  Airbus^[1][2][5] release: "Given the lack of order backlog with other airlines, Airbus will cease deliveries of the A380 in 2021"; ADS Group^[3] posted it on 14 February 2019 and TravelMole^[4] reported it on Thursday 14 February 2019.

  On 14 February 2019 Airbus said it would stop delivering the A380 in 2021 after Emirates cut its order from 162 to 123 aircraft. Emirates ordered 40 A330-900s and 30 A350-900s worth US$21.4 billion at list prices instead.

  Airbus^[1][2][3][4] release: "Emirates and Airbus firmed up an earlier Memorandum of Understanding ... and signed a contract for 20 additional A380s with a further 16 options"; signed at the World Government Summit, which TPG reported on 12 February 2018 as "just finalized".

  Airbus and Emirates signed a contract for 20 additional A380s, with 16 further options, in a US$16 billion deal at list prices. It was widely read as keeping the A380 line alive.

  ATSB final report AO-2010-089: "On 4 November 2010, while climbing through 7,000 ft after departing from Changi Airport, Singapore, the Airbus^[2] A380 registered VH-OQA, sustained an uncontained engine rotor failure".

  On 4 November 2010 the No. 2 Rolls-Royce Trent 900 of Qantas A380 VH-OQA failed in flight after takeoff from Singapore. Debris damaged the left wing and systems, but the crew landed safely at Changi.

  AFP, 28 July 2008: Emirates "prenait livraison lundi a Hambourg du premier de ses 58 avions geants A380"; Emirates' June release said it would receive the first A380 "from Airbus^[2]' Hamburg facility on July 28".

  On 28 July 2008 Emirates received its first A380 at Airbus's Hamburg plant and unveiled a cabin with first-class showers and an onboard lounge. The Gulf carrier, the biggest A380 customer with 58 ordered, flew it Dubai to New York on 1 August.

  AP, 25 Oct 2007: "completing its first commercial flight from Singapore to Sydney with 455 passengers"; Airbus^[3] had scheduled "a special charity-flight between both cities on 25/26th October".

  On 25 October 2007 Singapore Airlines flight SQ380 carried 455 passengers from Singapore to Sydney, the first passenger flight of the A380. Most seats had been sold on eBay, with proceeds going to charity.

  Airbus^[2] release, Paris, 15 October 2007: "Airbus has officially handed over the first A380 to Singapore Airlines in a ceremony held at its Delivery Centre Toulouse"; Lagardere's^[5] copy notes the ceremony "on Monday, 15th October".

  On 15 October 2007 Airbus handed the first A380 to Singapore Airlines at its Toulouse delivery centre, 18 months after the original plan. The aircraft, 9V-SKA, carried 471 seats in three classes.

  EASA release dated 12 Dec 2006: "issued today its safety approval for the Airbus^[2] A380 in a hand-over ceremony in Toulouse"; Airbus's release says the ceremony was held "on Tuesday".

  On 12 December 2006 EASA and the FAA handed Airbus the A380 type certificates at a ceremony in Toulouse, ten months before the first delivery. It was the first large aircraft certified by EASA.

  Airbus^[3] release, 18 January 2005: "will be officially revealed to the world for the first time at a ceremony ... later today (18th January)" in the Jean-Luc Lagardere Final Assembly Line hall; Chirac's speech is dated 18 janvier 2005.

  On 18 January 2005 Airbus revealed the first A380 to more than 4,500 guests in its Toulouse final assembly hall, with the leaders of France, the UK, Germany and Spain presiding. The prototype wore Airbus's new livery, three months before its first flight.

  EADS release, Amsterdam, 19 December 2000: "welcomes Tuesday's decision by the Airbus^[2] supervisory board to launch the A380-programme"; Airbus's own year-end statement dates the "formal go-ahead for the programme on 19th December".

  On 19 December 2000 the Airbus supervisory board approved the A380 programme, backed by 50 firm commitments from six airlines. Final assembly was to be split between Toulouse and Hamburg, with first service then planned for early 2006.
