A 3.5 km fully underground northern extension carries the Daxing airport line one stop on from Caoqiao to Lize Shangwuqu in Fengtai District, bringing the airport service closer to central Beijing. Work on the extension started in 2020.

The 32 km non-stop link will run every 15 minutes from 5am to midnight between Gare de l'Est and Charles de Gaulle Airport, a 20-minute trip, operated by Hello Paris, a Keolis and RATP Dev joint venture. The new line runs from a station between Haneda's Terminals 1 and 2 through an underwater tunnel to the Tokaido Main Line near Tamachi, tying the airport directly into Tokyo Station and Shin-Kiba. Construction began on 2 June 2023 and the East Yamanote route is costed at about 280 billion yen.
