Kwu Tung Station Opens on the East Rail Line
Kwu Tung opens between Sheung Shui and Lok Ma Chau as the first railway station serving the Kwu Tung North new development area in Hong Kong's Northern Metropolis. It is being built by cut-and-cover directly above the operating Lok Ma Chau Spur Line tunnel, using box structures left in place when that tunnel was built, so East Rail trains keep running underneath.
