Phase one of DFW's sixth terminal opens with 15 gates, two and a half years after construction began in November 2024 and on a frame built from six prefabricated modules rolled into place by August 2025. DFW and American Airlines have since scaled the programme up to an eventual 31 gates at about $4 billion, with the rest of the terminal following by 2031.
