Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, the second of the Rebuild of Evangelion films, opens in Japanese theaters, introducing new pilots Asuka and Mari as the Angel attacks escalate toward the Third Impact.

The fourth and final installment of Hideaki Anno's Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy finds Shinji, Asuka, and Rei sheltering in one of the last untouched human settlements after the Fourth Impact, each trying to live an ordinary life while a final, world-ending Instrumentality Project looms. Studio Khara closed out the 14-year reboot project with a film that saw three separate cuts released between 2021 and 2023, each refining the visuals and effects without changing the core story.

Studio Khara debuts a new short Evangelion animation at the "EVANGELION:30+" 30th-anniversary fan event in Yokohama Arena, marking three decades since Neon Genesis Evangelion's original broadcast.
