Scheuerle Debuts the Self-Propelled Modular Transporter
German heavy-vehicle maker Scheuerle Fahrzeugfabrik developed and launched the Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT), the modular, multi-axle hauler that became the industry standard for moving exceptionally heavy loads. Its name is now used generically across the heavy-transport industry.
