Taylor Swift — "The Fate of Ophelia" (GfK Top 100 Singles (H1 2026, year to date) #1 2026)
🇺🇸
#1 on GfK Top 100 Singles (H1 2026, year to date) (2026)
GfK Entertainment / BVMI
Taylor Swift achieved the #1 music ranking of 2026 on Germany's GfK Top 100 Singles (H1 2026, year to date). Taylor Swift's The Fate of Ophelia, from The Life of a Showgirl, tops GfK's first-half 2026 German singles chart (year to date through H1, published 8 July 2026); the full 2026 year-end chart is not yet published.
- The ranking: web.de reported that Taylor Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia" tops GfK Entertainment's first-half 2026 German singles chart, a year-to-date list published on 8 July 2026. It is a half-year standing, not a final 2026 result, because the full year-end chart has not been published yet.[1]
- The song: it was released on 3 October 2025 by Republic Records as the lead single from The Life of a Showgirl, and was written and produced by Swift with Max Martin and Shellback.[2]
- In Germany: Wikipedia's song article says it reached number one with 13 weeks at the top, Swift's first German number one, and a BVMI Platinum certification for 600,000 units. The 2026 German number-ones list shows it at the top of the 2 January 2026 issue, the first of the year, and the page adds that the GfK charts run Friday to Thursday and combine sales, streaming and German radio airplay.[2][3]
- Beyond Germany: the song debuted at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 with 92.5 million on-demand streams and went on to spend 10 non-consecutive weeks there, Swift's longest Hot 100 stay at number one. It also debuted at number one in the UK with 132,000 first-week units, the biggest first week of 2025, and led the Billboard Global 200 for seven weeks.[2]
- Streaming records: the article credits it as Spotify's most-streamed song in a single day and in a single week, and the first song to reach 30 million streams in one day.[2]
- Context for the year: the same German list shows other Swift songs reaching number one in 2026, including "Opalite" (27 February issue) and "I Knew It, I Knew You" (12 June issue), so her songs were repeatedly at the top of the chart during the half-year this ranking covers.[3]
