The first entry is always the pin's source. Overall confidence is a weighted average of how firmly each reference supports the start and end times used above; a reference counts half as much for every 180 days older than the newest.

NASA's^[2][3] eclipse catalogue gives the instant of greatest eclipse as 15:59:35 UT on 2027-02-06 (16:00:47 TD, the two separated by delta-T), from Saros series 131. Eclipse circumstances are computed from orbital mechanics, so the date and time are exact centuries ahead.

Something missing or wrong? Say it in your own words: a link that backs this pin up, a different start or end date and why, or a fact it lacks or gets wrong. The AI checks it against this pin's sources, searches for better ones, and adds any page that backs you up. The pin's own sources still count most. A picture that shows something else, or shows it badly, is looked at too, and moved down or replaced.

An annular solar eclipse on 2027 Feb 06, with the Moon's antumbral shadow path plotted by Fred Espenak for NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center^[1][2]
Greatest eclipse falls at 15:59:35.7 UT at 31°18.2'S, 048°28.1'W, with the Sun 72.7° up, a path 281.5 km wide and a central-line duration of 07m50.9s^[1]
The saros catalogue lists the same eclipse as 2027 Feb 06 at 16:00:48 TD (a Terrestrial Dynamical Time value, against the path table's Universal Time), at 31.3°S 48.5°W, path width 282 km, central duration 07m51s^[3]
Greatest duration is longer than the duration at greatest eclipse: 07m53.5s at 15:41:48 UT at 35°04'S, 053°22'W, where the path is 279.7 km wide^[1]; the Google map page gives the same figure, "In this case, the Greatest Duration is 07m53.5s"^[2]
The path table runs at 120-second intervals over 113 timed rows from 14:08 UT to 17:52 UT, plus opening and closing limit rows, listing northern and southern limits and the central line in WGS 84 coordinates^[1]
The shadow track begins in the Pacific (14:08 UT row near 41°S, 122°W) and ends near the Gulf of Guinea (17:52 UT row near 05°N, 000°E), the annular phase being visible only between the northern and southern limits, longest on the central line^[1][2]
Maximum-eclipse times and positions are marked along the map path at 10-minute intervals; the point of greatest eclipse (GE) and the point of greatest duration (GD) are marked separately^[2]
The eclipse belongs to Saros series 131, sequence number 09567, relative number 13, with gamma -0.2952 and eclipse magnitude 0.9281^[3]
Saros 131 runs 1244.08 years from a partial eclipse on 1125 Aug 01 to a partial eclipse on 2369 Sep 02 and holds 70 solar eclipses (29 partial, 30 annular, 6 total, 5 hybrid); the series' longest annular eclipse was 2009 Jan 26 at 07m54s, just ahead of this one^[3]
Predictions use the VSOP87/ELP2000-85 solar and lunar ephemerides with ΔT = 71.6 seconds^[1][2]; the catalogue's own row for the eclipse carries ΔT = 76 s^[3]
The predictions "DO NOT include the effects of mountains and valleys along the edge of the Moon"; lunar-limb corrections may shift the path limits north or south by ~1-3 km and change durations by ~1-3 seconds, and may move the exact location of greatest duration by ~10-20 km^[1][2]
More detailed predictions including the lunar limb profile "are normally posted 12-18 months before each eclipse"^[1][2]
All eclipse calculations are by Fred Espenak, who "assumes full responsibility for their accuracy"; the path page ends with the date 2014 Feb 26, the Google map page 2014 Mar 14 and the saros catalogue 2009 Sep 26^[1][2][3]
