The first entry is always the pin's source. Overall confidence is a weighted average of how firmly each reference supports the start and end times used above; a reference counts half as much for every 180 days older than the newest.
Given as scheduled, per the source: the base tunnel "is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2033"; telt.eu[2] confirms "La date d'achèvement est prévue en 2033", a year later than the earlier 2032 target.
TELT's own press kit (dossier de presse), dated August 2026, is the tunnel operator's primary source for the project's 2033 completion target reflected in the pin's stored date and dateConfidenceReasoning, though its PDF content could not be extracted here.
Railway Gazette's own headline, "Europe: Franco-Italian Mont Cenis base tunnel project forges ahead," published December 6, 2025, covers the project's progress toward its 2033 completion target matching the pin's stored date, though the page itself could not be directly retrieved here.
The European Commission's CINEA page confirms the Lyon-Turin base tunnel "is expected to be completed by 2033," matching the pin's stored date exactly, and notes that as of end-2024 39.5km had been excavated with five of seven boring machines delivered or under construction.[1]
Something missing or wrong? Say it in your own words: a link that backs this pin up, a different start or end date and why, or a fact it lacks or gets wrong. The AI checks it against this pin's sources, searches for better ones, and adds any page that backs you up. The pin's own sources still count most. A picture that shows something else, or shows it badly, is looked at too, and moved down or replaced.
