The second season of Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc., animated by J.C.Staff, continues its corporate-workplace spin on the mahou shoujo genre: magical girls here are salaried employees, and protagonists Kana Sakuragi and Hitomi Koshigaya spend as much time on internal politics and product rollout for the company's Alice System as they do fighting. This season pits them against industry factions pushing to deregulate magic use for profit, raising the stakes beyond the first season's day-to-day office drama.
