DC's Jonah Hex and the Shadow of Death Launches a Horror Western on 7 October
- Jonah Hex and the Shadow of Death is a new six-issue series written and drawn by Michael Walsh (Exquisite Corpses, The Silver Coin), announced at DC's Next Level panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2026[3][4]
- In the town of Ashecott, "something evil has arrived", older than the town itself and from a world beyond; Jonah Hex, now a broken-down bounty hunter, sees a chance at redemption when he notices the entities and a child with mysterious abilities they want[4]
- Walsh took a break from creator-owned work for this rare work-for-hire job out of a long-held wish to do a horror western, and brings in Irish folklore "because there were a lot of Irish in the Wild West"[3]
- It joins Next Level launches including Batwoman, Lobo, Deathstroke: The Terminator, The Fury of Firestorm, Zatanna, Barbara Gordon: Breakout and The Deadman, part of DC All In's second act[4]
- Bleeding Cool ran a second preview of the issue a week before it shipped[2]

Something missing or wrong? Say it in your own words: a link that backs this pin up, a different start or end date and why, or a fact it lacks or gets wrong. The AI checks it against this pin's sources, searches for better ones, and adds any page that backs you up. The pin's own sources still count most. A picture that shows something else, or shows it badly, is looked at too, and moved down or replaced.
