Boeing's[3] release is datelined 'EVERETT, Wash., Aug. 26, 2011' and says it 'received certification for the all-new 787 Dreamliner from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)'.The FAA and EASA certified the Rolls-Royce-powered 787-8 on 26 August 2011 at a ceremony in Everett, clearing the way for first delivery. Certification came nearly two years after first flight.
