Automotive trade press dates the formal opening of the expanded Leipzig plant for Macan production to 11 February 2014.[1]Porsche formally opened its expanded Leipzig factory, adding a body shop and paint shop so the plant could build the Macan compact SUV in-house rather than shipping bodies in from Germany's other Porsche site.
