Reuben Schwartz opened his delicatessen on Saint-Laurent Boulevard on 31 December 1928, and it has smoked brisket the same way since - dry-cured with no nitrates, ten days in the cure, served hand-cut on rye. The queue outside the narrow room is a Montreal fixture.
