A 20-course, $295 tasting menu staged as theatre: 26 diners at a time move from a graffiti lounge to a projection-mapped communal room, past the open kitchen and into a chandeliered dining room, two or three seatings a night.

Punk Noir opened on Tuesday 2 June 2026 at 139 Turtle Creek Blvd, Suite 130, in the Dallas Design District - "in time to welcome World Cup visitors"^[1][2]
The concept is a tasting menu staged as a route through a building: a lounge under a graffiti mural by Michael Shellis, a black-draped archway into a communal dining room with projection-mapped visuals led by a "Mistress of Ceremonies", an open kitchen where the chef serves some courses himself, and a chandeliered dining room hung with Shellis's punk canvases^[1][2]
Twenty courses at $295 a head, "playful and provocative - some just a single bite", opening with an "agrarian prologue" of soil, root and garden before turning to the sea; named dishes include blue crab with seaweed and calamansi, scallop with turmeric and Kaluga caviar, and cod cheek with dashi^[1][2]
Only 26 seats go per seating, two to three seatings a night; the Noir Lounge at the front takes drinkers without the full menu, seating 46 by CultureMap's count or 64 across lounge and bar by the restaurant's own release^[1][2]
The kitchen is led by James Beard Award-winning chef RJ Cooper, previously of Rogue 24 in Washington and Saint Stephen in Nashville, with the cocktail programme run by Shane Scully as "a multi-course exploration of form, flavor, and restraint"^[1][3]
It is owned by Dallas natives John McKeel and his sons Cole and Clay, who built it against the fine dining they had eaten elsewhere - "So many of them had amazing food, but the experience often felt flat - stiff, quiet, and even intimidating" - and pitch it as "fine dining without the pretense"^[1][2]
It was announced in September 2025 to open "in early 2026"; the firm June date came nine months later, an estimate firming up rather than a delay^[3]
