Cambodia's Health Ministry reported on 28 September that a 49-year-old man in Oddar Meanchey province tested positive for H5N1, the country's sixth human case this year. He had direct contact with sick and dead chickens that the National Animal Health and Production Research Institute confirmed positive on 23 September, and he is isolated in hospital.

Agriculture Victoria extended for 28 days from 19 September the requirement that owners of 50 or more poultry in southern Victoria, including metropolitan Melbourne, confine birds away from wild birds, in place until at least 16 October 2026 and under review. H5 bird flu, first found in Australia in June, has not been detected in poultry.
