The Obama Presidential Center Opens to the Public

The Obama Foundation's 19.3-acre campus in Jackson Park, built around a 225-foot museum tower, took its first visitors on Juneteenth, the day after a dedication ceremony at John Lewis Plaza. At roughly $850 million it is the most expensive presidential library yet built; ground was broken in September 2021 after years of lawsuits over the Jackson Park site.
