Two more of the ten Common Central Secretariat blocks on Kartavya Path, along with the Seva Teerth complex, were inaugurated, taking to three the number of buildings in service in the Central Vista's replacement for Shastri, Nirman and Krishi Bhawan. The first three blocks, designed by HCP and built by Shapoorji Pallonji, cost 3,690 crore rupees and each spans about 150,000 sq m over seven floors and two basements.

LACMA's permanent collection moved into a new home on 19 April 2026: a 275-metre curved building of glass and concrete that steps over Wilshire Boulevard on splayed piers, lifting 10,220 square metres of galleries some nine metres above the street. It completes a campus rebuild two decades in the making, replacing four of the museum's ageing buildings with a single level where the collection is shown without a fixed route through it.

The final structural beam went in at the top of the 660-foot guitar-shaped hotel tower, built on the former site of the Mirage's volcano and holding 675 of the resort's rooms. The $4 billion Hard Rock Las Vegas is a full rebuild of the Mirage, which closed on 17 July 2024, and is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2027.

The Grade II-listed west London exhibition halls reopened as a mixed-use district with rooftop restaurants, offices, two hotels and the 3,800-capacity British Airways ARC music venue, which launched the following night. George Lucas's museum of narrative art opens to the public on 22 September 2026 in Exposition Park, after a build that ran years past its first target date. It is given over to storytelling as art - illustration, comics, film and the painted image side by side - rather than to a single medium, and it lands beside the Natural History Museum and the California Science Center in the city's museum quarter.

The new North Concourse at George Bush Intercontinental replaces the 1969-era flight stations with about 765,000 square feet on three levels, 22 gates for United and a 54,000-square-foot United Club, the largest in the airline's network. It is the centrepiece of the $2.5 billion Terminal B Transformation, which closed the old Terminal B lobby in January 2025.

The rephased Inglewood Transit Connector begins with three mobility hubs holding more than 1,000 parking stalls, event-day bus lanes, a rebuilt Market Street and a pedestrian bridge over Florence Avenue to the Metro K Line station, all due by 2028. The $915 million museum on the bank of the Parramatta River opens with five exhibitions and more than 3,000 objects, and is the largest museum in New South Wales. Most of its exhibitions are free, and all are free for visitors under 16.

London's city museum reopens on 28 November 2026 under a new name and in a new home: the derelict General Market beside Smithfield's meat halls, a Victorian market building left empty for decades and now rebuilt around its own ironwork and glazed dome. The move ends the institution's run at London Wall, where it had been hemmed in by a roundabout and reached by a walkway, and puts it at street level in a market that has traded on the site since the twelfth century.

The first large public piece of Amtrak's phased rebuild of the William H. Gray III 30th Street Station: a restored concourse of shops and restaurants beneath the 1933 building, part of a redevelopment of nearly 500,000 square feet running to 2028.

The Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Residences Miami - nine stacked and cantilevered glass cubes holding nearly 100 storeys of condominiums and a 205-room hotel - is expected to reach its full 1,049 feet, making it the tallest building in Florida and the southern United States. Its superstructure passed level 85 and started the ninth and final cube in August 2026; delivery of the finished tower is set for 2028.

Twenty years after it was announced, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi opens on 11 December 2026 as the largest museum in the Guggenheim family - about 80,000 square metres, against roughly a quarter of that in New York. Frank Gehry arranged it around a single tall atrium with galleries threaded between ten sculptural cones, nine sheathed in stainless steel mesh and one in onyx and glass, so the roofline reads as a cluster of towers from across the Culture District.

Five Points Development's slender 262 Fifth Avenue condo tower topped out in Manhattan's NoMad district in 2024 and is on track to open in 2026, drawing criticism for blocking classic views of the nearby Empire State Building.

The 53-storey DC Tower 2 is rising beside its twin in Donau City using a jump-form climbing system, on track to finish out the district by the end of 2026.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield started work at the end of 2021 and is fitting out the EUR 700 million tower for its final handover.

A new $2.1 billion enclosed Nissan Stadium is scheduled to hand over to the Tennessee Titans in February 2027, funded largely by public money in a bid to eventually host a Super Bowl.

The $815 million AbbVie Foundation Cancer Pavilion, a seven-storey 575,000-square-foot building north of 57th Street in Hyde Park, is Illinois' first freestanding cancer centre, with 80 inpatient beds, 90 outpatient exam rooms and dedicated imaging, infusion and clinical trial space. It pulls together cancer services currently spread across at least five buildings on the campus.

Related Midwest's 72-story North Tower, built inside the abandoned Chicago Spire foundation pit, is slated to open along the city's lakefront in 2027.

Berlin's Pergamonmuseum comes back in stages, and the first of them lands on 4 June 2027: the North Wing and the northern central building reopen, putting the Pergamon Altar back on public view and giving the Museum für Islamische Kunst two full floors. The museum has been under renovation since 2013 as part of the Museumsinsel master plan, and the South Wing stays shut after this - it is not expected back until around 2037.

Major construction begins on the Hillcrest Medical Center Renewal Project, replacing the hospital built as the county hospital in 1963 with about 800,000 square feet holding roughly 300 licensed beds and a Level One trauma centre. The wider Hillcrest redevelopment is a ten-year, $2.5-3 billion programme finishing in 2033.

After a decade standing unfinished as the world's tallest abandoned building, Tianjin's 597-metre Goldin Finance 117 resumed construction under a state-led rescue and is targeted to complete in 2027.

Shanghai's second-largest station after Hongqiao is being built in the bonded area beside Pudong International Airport, its high-speed station building given 15 platforms and 30 tracks. Passengers will walk roughly 250 metres between the trains and the airport.

Turner broke ground on 5 September 2024 on the $2.6 billion modernization of SFO's Terminal 3: a 200,000-square-foot expansion, 650,000 square feet of renovation and a new six-story building holding airline lounges and operational offices. The eastern addition follows in 2029.

The University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing Jiaotong University, China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and Beijing Forestry University began building Xiong'an campuses in November 2023 under a 'one university, two campuses' model that keeps their Beijing sites and shares staff, libraries and labs. Fifteen Beijing universities are to have campuses there, all of them finished by 2030.

Seattle Public Schools, the City of Seattle and the Kraken-backed One Roof Partnership are replacing the 1947 stadium with a rebuilt open-air venue for school sport, concerts and community events, keeping and reframing the Memorial Wall that honours 762 local students and alumni killed in the Second World War. It is funded with $110 million of public money plus roughly $30 million raised privately.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment's rebuild of the Capitals' and Wizards' downtown arena reaches the end of six construction phases that began in December 2024 and were staged around live events, including a new 'Visibowl' seating bowl, new premium clubs and a new cardholder entrance opening in autumn 2027.
