… 10 1/2 inches, 4.2 lbs, black or silver Yamaha pitched the WXC-70A as a compact network streamer with no power amplifier, a companion to the WXA-70A streaming amplifier; both were unveiled ahead of CEDIA Expo 2026 and are due in November 2026 US pricing is listed at $999.95 against $1,299.95 for the amplifier version, roughly double the $449.95 the 2016 WXC-50 cost; ChannelNews quotes Australian pricing of A$1,599 for this model, with arrival in November Because it has no amplification stage, it works as a network player or streaming preamplifier feeding an existing amplifier, powered speakers or a hi-fi system. A dedicated subwoofer output is included Streaming support covers AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect and Roon Ready certification, plus Yamaha's MusicCast multi-room system controlled through its app The converter is an ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC, and an HDMI eARC input lets a TV connect over one cable with power and volume following a compatible TV remote Compared with the decade-old WXC-50, the headline additions are YPAO room calibration (with an included microphone and reflected-sound control), Control4 compatibility, web-based setup, an IR input and a 12V trigger, which suit custom-installed systems Reviewers describe it for owners who already have good amplification or speakers and want modern streaming; Gear Patrol says it pairs naturally with Yamaha's A-S series integrated amplifiers and ships in black or silver
