Gustave Eiffel’s Company Completes the Eiffel Tower
Gustave Eiffel’s engineering firm finished the Eiffel Tower in Paris after just over two years of construction, built as the entrance arch for the 1889 Exposition Universelle. The 300-metre iron lattice tower was the tallest man-made structure in the world at the time.
