The first entry is always the pin's source. Overall confidence is a weighted average of how firmly each reference supports the start and end times used above; a reference counts half as much for every 180 days older than the newest.
PiAPI's developer post says "On December 19th 2024, Kuaishou ... has just released its new model, Kling 1.6, making the announcement in a post on X"; ScriptByAI's[5] timeline gives the same day, and the syndicated press release is dated 20 December.
10 January 2025 hands-on across seven prompts; calls v1.6 'the best all round AI video model I've used' and its text-to-video 'particularly impressive'.[1]
Reseller spec table: Standard 720p, 5 s, first frame only; Pro 1080p, 10 s (5 s when a last frame is set), first plus last frame in image-to-video.[1]
Kuaishou's 15 April 2025 release says Kling 1.6 Pro topped Artificial Analysis's image-to-video ranking on 27 March with an Elo of 1,000 ahead of Veo 2 and Pika.[1]
Records the 19 December 2024 launch improving responses to movement, action timing and camera descriptions, and the January 2025 Elements multi-image references.[1]
Something missing or wrong? Say it in your own words: a link that backs this pin up, a different start or end date and why, or a fact it lacks or gets wrong. The AI checks it against this pin's sources, searches for better ones, and adds any page that backs you up. The pin's own sources still count most. A picture that shows something else, or shows it badly, is looked at too, and moved down or replaced.

Kling v1.6 is the best all round AI video model I've used but it does have some of the same issues as other models such as Runway and Hailuo.
its predecessor, Kling 1.6 is already the leader in image-to-video and ranks second on text-to-video based on blind tests.
Natural movement stands out as the biggest improvement.
