Broadcom's Tomahawk 6, the first 102.4 Tbps Ethernet switch chip and double the bandwidth of Tomahawk 5, moved into production-volume shipments less than three quarters after its first samples.

Broadcom announced on 12 March 2026 that the Tomahawk 6 family switch series is now shipping in production volume, less than three quarters after initial sampling^[1]
Tomahawk 6 doubles the throughput of Tomahawk 5 to 102.4 Tbps, supports both 100G and 200G SerDes, and comes as 512 x 200G or 1,024 x 100G SerDes on a single chip, aimed at AI clusters of more than one million XPUs^[1]
Broadcom's product page lists the BCM78910 with 128 Peregrine 106.25G PAM4 SerDes cores and the BCM78914 with 64 Condor 212.5G cores, ports up to 1.6TbE (128 x 800GbE or 512 x 200GbE), and a 3nm process^[4]
LightCounting's Bob Wheeler said Tomahawk 6 enables a 128K-XPU scale-out network with only two switch tiers, and that a single chip can connect 512 XPUs in a scale-up network with single-hop all-to-all connectivity^[1]
Broadcom also credits the chip with advanced load balancing and congestion management for lower job completion time, and the longest passive copper reach through its SerDes, cutting the optics a cluster needs^[1]
