Aldi Nord's New Lehrte-Aligse Logistics Centre Starts Supplying Stores

Aldi Nord's 42,800-square-metre distribution centre near Lehrte-Aligse began supplying 77 stores in Lower Saxony, completing the modernisation of its German logistics network.

From 9 September 2024 the new logistics centre near Lehrte-Aligse supplies 77 Aldi stores in the Wolfsburg, Peine, Südheide and Hannover regions; 57 more from Salzgitter, Braunschweig, Hameln and Hildesheim follow from January 2025^[1][3].
The Sievershausen regional company moved about 11 km from its 1971 site, which had 27,000 m² of storage and no longer met logistics or energy standards^[1][3].
From 2025 the site also takes about 100 administrative staff and 700 store employees from 57 stores after the neighbouring Salzgitter and Rinteln regional companies close^[1].
It was the last building project of a programme begun in 2016: 15 expansions and three new builds, shrinking the network from 35 to 20 regional companies averaging about 40,000 m²^[1].
