Gaylord Pacific Resort Opens on the Chula Vista Bayfront

The $1.3 billion, 1,600-room Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center opened as the centerpiece of the Port of San Diego and Chula Vista bayfront redevelopment, with a 4.25-acre water park on San Diego Bay. It became the largest hotel in California.

Built in partnership by the Port of San Diego, the City of Chula Vista and RIDA Chula Vista, LLC, the resort was opened with a ribbon cutting on Thursday, 15 May 2025 attended by Marriott and Gaylord Hotels representatives^[1]
