About 700 Culinary Local 226 and Bartenders Local 165 workers walked out of the off-Strip Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in the union's first open-ended strike in over 22 years, holding 24/7 picket lines until members ratified a five-year contract on 22 January 2025.

About 700 non-gaming workers - guest room attendants, servers, porters, cooks and bartenders - struck Virgin Hotels Las Vegas from 5:00am on 15 November 2024, the Culinary Union's first open-ended strike in more than 22 years^[3].
Pickets ran 24/7 at every entrance on Harmon Avenue and Paradise Road, through the Las Vegas Grand Prix and the National Finals Rodeo^[1][3].
The strike ended on Wednesday 22 January 2025, after 69 days, when members voted to accept a five-year contract announced in a joint statement^[1].
Virgin accepted the contract language in place at other Strip properties, including the 32 percent raise over five years the unions had won from other casino operators in 2023^[1].
It was the Culinary's longest Las Vegas strike in 27 years, behind only the six-year Frontier strike that ended in 1998^[1].
