A gunman with an M4 rifle killed four people, including off-duty NYPD officer Didarul Islam, and wounded a fifth inside the Midtown office tower at 345 Park Avenue before killing himself on the 33rd floor.

The gunman left a double-parked BMW on Park Avenue carrying an M4 rifle, opened fire on an NYPD officer in the lobby, shot a woman behind a pillar and a security guard at the elevator bank^[1]
He took an elevator to Rudin Management on the 33rd floor, killed one more person there and then shot himself; four victims died and one man was critically wounded^[1]
Police identified the shooter as Shane Tamura, 27, of Las Vegas, with a documented mental health history; his car had crossed Colorado, Nebraska and Iowa in the days before^[1]
