Simple Flying^[3]: 'The prototype aircraft first flew on July 27, 1983'; Wikipedia^[2], Airfleets and Aviacionline agree. Embraer's^[1] own history page and Aeropedia^[4] give 29 July 1983, the day of the official presentation and christening, so the day is disputed by two days.

Embraer's pressurised 30-seat EMB 120 Brasilia turboprop prototype PT-ZBA flew for the first time in July 1983 at São José dos Campos, the airliner that opened the US commuter market to Embraer.

On 17 February 2021 De Havilland Canada said it would build no new Dash 8-400s at Downsview beyond confirmed orders, affecting about 500 employees, as the plant lease ran out in 2021.
