Boeing[3] says the 787-9 'took to the skies for the first time today' on 17 Sept 2013, 'taking off from Paine Field in Everett, Wash., at 11:02 a.m. local time and landing at 4:18 p.m.'; Reuters gave the landing as 2318 GMT.The stretched 787-9 flew for the first time on 17 September 2013, a 5-hour, 16-minute flight from Paine Field to Boeing Field. Boeing called it a no-squawk flight and targeted certification and first delivery for mid-2014.
