Tajikistan's Rogun Dam, a Soviet-era project restarted after independence, is targeted to reach full completion around 2029 as the world's tallest dam at roughly 335 metres.

The SFPUC's project will bury a 3,200-foot seawall to protect the Lake Merced wastewater tunnel, remove the eroding Great Highway Extension between Sloat and Skyline and build a mile of seaside trail; its start has slipped from 2023-24 to late 2029.
