Video model rubric2026 criteria

Estimate from the version's published specs and reviews, 0-5; scores are only comparable within one criteria year. Scored as launched (Sora 2 in the Sora app, 30 Sep 2025): clips of 10 s (ZDNET, PCMag; raised to 15 s and 25 s for Pro in October), 720p because OpenAI's sora-2 model page lists only 720x1280/1280x720 (the app's own pixel size was not published in any opened source; Sora 2 Pro's higher quality is scored on the API pin), native dialogue, ambience and effects, text or image input plus cameos (a recorded face and voice) and remixing, hence 3.5. Speed null: PCMag says 'about a minute or two' at an unstated resolution. Realism 4: Verge, PCMag, ZDNET and Unite.AI praise it with caveats on distortion and audio; Unite.AI carries affiliate links.

OpenAI made a TikTok for deepfakes, and it’s getting hard to tell what’s real · theverge.com · 2025/10/01Some of the clips were generated live as we watched, and they were terrifyingly realistic — no more six-fingered hands (that I could see, at least).
Just How Good Is Sora 2 at Faking Reality? I Put It to the Test · au.pcmag.com · 2025/11/06In short, Sora 2's AI audio and video quality can be quite good. “Can” is the operative word, though, as it’s easy to encounter distortion and errors in your videos.
