Valley Metro opened the 5.5-mile South Central Extension and Downtown Hub, adding eight stations along Central and 1st avenues down to Baseline Road. The same day the system was restructured into an A Line running to Mesa and a B Line running from Metro Parkway in north-west Phoenix down to Baseline Road, the two meeting at four new downtown platforms.

Amazon pledges $20 million and launches the Colorado River Basin Collaborative, a corporate coalition with Aldi, The Coca-Cola Foundation, Ecolab and others that aims to raise $100 million for water projects across the basin in two years.

The second fab on TSMC's north Phoenix campus, whose structure was finished in 2025, is due to begin high-volume manufacturing in the second half of 2027 - a year earlier than the schedule the company had previously given. Chairman C.C. Wei gave the pulled-forward date on 15 January 2026; the campus is the centrepiece of a $165 billion Arizona investment.

Sky Harbor's West Terminal, the airport's first new terminal since Terminal 4 opened in 1990, is scheduled to go into construction in 2029 and open in 2033, with the number of concourses and gates still to be decided. The airport puts the likely cost at around $4.5 billion, paid for with passenger facility charges, bonds and airport funding rather than tax dollars.

The third fab on TSMC's north Phoenix campus, where ground was broken in April 2025, is slated for its 2nm (N2) and A16 processes and targeted for volume production by the end of the decade - the most advanced chipmaking TSMC has committed to the United States.
