Estimate from the version's published specs and reviews, 0-5; scores are only comparable within one criteria year. Scored as launched (2.0): ByteDance's paper gives 480p and 720p native output (hosts later list up to 1080p and 4K), 4-15 s clips, native audio-video, text, image, audio and video input with up to 9 images, 3 videos and 3 audio clips. No official speed figure. Realism: The Verge says its clips look far better than Sora, Veo or Runway output while still calling it slop; TechRadar finds the viral clips uncanny.[1]
It’s true that Seedance-created videos look far better than much of the stuff we’ve seen made with Sora, Veo, Runway, and others.
Nobody blinks, and emotions are either missing or delivered in odd ticks, like one of the characters seeming to sniff his pen in panic.
The lip sync follows the speech reasonably well, the expression has some life to it, and the hand gesture lands at the right beat.
The lip sync is tight, the cadence is natural, and the breath sounds are convincing.

Photos from readers, kept apart from the pin's sourced media. Rate what you ate or saw, and on a restaurant pin tag the dishes right on your photo.
The first entry is always the pin's source. Overall confidence is a weighted average of how firmly each reference supports the start and end times used above; a reference counts half as much for every 180 days older than the newest.
Estimated: ByteDance's paper says only "officially released in China in early February 2026"; press and third-party guides give 12 February 2026 (some 9 February).
Records the viral clips, the Motion Picture Association's objection, Disney's 13 February cease and desist, Paramount's complaint, ByteDance's[1] 16 February safeguards statement and the March US Senate letter.

Something missing or wrong? Say it in your own words: a link that backs this pin up, a different start or end date and why, or a fact it lacks or gets wrong. The AI checks it against this pin's sources, searches for better ones, and adds any page that backs you up. The pin's own sources still count most. A picture that shows something else, or shows it badly, is looked at too, and moved down or replaced.
