On 2 March 2017 AMD put its first Zen-based desktop chips, the 8-core Ryzen 7 1800X, 1700X and 1700, on sale after pre-orders opened on 22 February. Prices were US$499, US$399 and US$329.

On 24 February 2026 AMD and Meta announced an expanded partnership to deploy 6 gigawatts of AMD GPUs, starting with a custom MI450-based Instinct GPU and 6th Gen EPYC "Venice" CPUs in the second half of 2026. AMD issued Meta a performance-based warrant for up to 160 million AMD shares.

AMD launched its Helios rack-scale AI system, built on MI455X GPUs and Venice EPYC CPUs, with shipments to Microsoft starting in the second half of 2026 and a 2 GW Anthropic deployment from 2027.

On 28 September 2026 AMD announced a definitive agreement to acquire World Labs, the spatial-intelligence AI lab led by Fei-Fei Li, in an all-stock deal valued at about US$8.2 billion. Li will become AMD executive vice president and chief scientist; closing is expected by the end of 2026.
