Primark chief executive Paul Marchant resigned with immediate effect after an investigation by parent company Associated British Foods into an allegation of inappropriate behaviour towards a woman in a social setting, ending his 16 years running the retailer.

Associated British Foods confirmed Eoin Tonge, its finance director who had run Primark on an interim basis since Paul Marchant's March 2025 exit, as the retailer's permanent chief executive, alongside a new chief commercial officer role.
