Estimate from the variant's published specs, 0-5; scores are only comparable within one criteria year. Variant: Dash 8-100 (PW120 1,800 shp, MTOW 34,500 lb, 37 passengers), BAE Heritage table. Range: 1,174 statute miles = 1,020 NM -> 0. Capacity: 37 -> 0. Efficiency: no fuel burn published -> null. Speed: 310 mph (269 kt), no Mach, about M0.42 -> 0. Runway: no maker planning figure; operator North Star Air lists 3,280 ft -> 5 (operator figure, not a maker chart). Comfort remains null: three firsthand publishers (Ben Brown, Paliparan and Flight-Report) now supply pilot or cabin accounts of the exact -100. Olympic Air and CemAir cabin impressions concern later operator configurations, not the prototype or NorOntair delivery cabin. Simple Flying on #19564 is supplemental family history, not firsthand testing. Seat score = linear between the 2026 anchors, rounded to the nearest half step (halves up).[3]
They were all rock-stable, so I hand-flew the plane as often as I could.
The cabin of the Dash is always a bit narrow, one of the narrowers I have been to but the seats were somewhat confortable.
Utilized still by regional airliners today, the Dash 8 had a large T-tail and a very high aspect ratio wing. The Dash 8 has better cruise performance than the Dash 7 and is much less expensive to maintain or operate because it only has two engines.
The seats on the Olympic Air Dash 8-100 are fairly comfortable
the legroom on this one is really good.
