The first entry is always the pin's source. Overall confidence is a weighted average of how firmly each reference supports the start and end times used above; a reference counts half as much for every 180 days older than the newest.
Z.ai put GLM-5.3 into its API, GLM Coding Plan and ZCode client on 14 August 2026: Reuters (via The Standard[6]) is dated 14 August and says Z.ai "said on Friday", and DataNorth[5] says it was "released on 14 August 2026". Z.ai's developer release notes log the entry under 18 August and the open weights followed on 28 August; both are later steps, not the release.
Z.ai's pricing page lists GLM-5.3 at $1.4 per million input tokens, $0.26 cached input and $4.4 output, the same as GLM-5.2.[1]
Reports Anthropic's Frontier Red Team analysis of 30 September (50 of 410 ExploitBench attempts against 56 for Claude Mythos Preview; safeguards bypassed in 64-100% of simulated tries), the new licence for companies above $10 billion revenue, and NIST CAISI calling it the most cyber-capable open-weight model but about four months behind US frontier models.[1]
Z.ai's model card: same base model as GLM-5.2 with every gain from post-training, the full results table against GLM-5.2, Kimi K3, DeepSeek-V4 Pro, Qwen3.8-Max, Claude Opus 4.8, Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol, and the custom glm-5.3 licence; the repository went public on 27-28 August 2026.[1]
DataNorth's 17 August write-up: released 14 August, 1M context and 128K output, the Terminal-Bench 3.0 harness details, which results Artificial Analysis and Proximal ran, and the Coding Plan at $18 per month with half-price off-peak points.
Something missing or wrong? Say it in your own words: a link that backs this pin up, a different start or end date and why, or a fact it lacks or gets wrong. The AI checks it against this pin's sources, searches for better ones, and adds any page that backs you up. The pin's own sources still count most. A picture that shows something else, or shows it badly, is looked at too, and moved down or replaced.
Z.ai's results table from the model card, as published[4]; the non-Z.ai columns are the maker's own comparison runs.
