The 2.25-mile automated people mover linking LAX's terminals to the Metro Rail system and the rental car centre began demonstration running without passengers, aiming for 30 consecutive days of error-free operation before it can carry anyone. Construction was originally due to finish in March 2023; Los Angeles World Airports has since agreed to more than $880 million in dispute payments on top of the $4.9 billion, 25-year contract, and has not announced an opening date.
