The first entry is always the pin's source. Overall confidence is a weighted average of how firmly each reference supports the start and end times used above; a reference counts half as much for every 180 days older than the newest.
Date has passed, but interestingengineering.com does not confirm it happened then; unverified.
World Nuclear News reports Tokamak Energy's ST40 reactor in Oxfordshire achieved first plasma on 28 April 2017, eight months earlier than the pin's stored 31 December 2017 date.

Something missing or wrong? Say it in your own words: a link that backs this pin up, a different start or end date and why, or a fact it lacks or gets wrong. The AI checks it against this pin's sources, searches for better ones, and adds any page that backs you up. The pin's own sources still count most.
Westinghouse announced the launch of a small version of its flagship AP1000 nuclear reactor on Thursday.
The new reactor, called the AP300, aims to be available in 2027, and will generate about a third of the power as the flagship AP1000 reactor, enough to power about 300,000 homes.
It’s expected to cost about $1 billion to set up each plant, a small fraction of the expense of the full AP1000.
