Embraer 190 Prototype Makes First Flight, Opening the Larger E-Jet Line

• The prototype ERJ-190, c/n 19000001 and registered PP-XMA, made its first flight on 12 March 2004; Embraer later dropped the ERJ prefix in marketing in favour of a plain 'E'^[1]
• It followed the 2002 E170 prototype and added a new larger wing, stabiliser and the 20,000 lbf CF34-10E engines; JetBlue had ordered 100 of them in 2003^[2][4]
