A one-way cable car ride goes from $9 to $12 and a new $18 Cable Car Plus pass gives a day of unlimited Muni travel for one adult and up to two youth; the same month Muni ends its 15-cent Clipper discount, making the adult fare $3.

Under the budget the SFMTA board approved on 21 April 2026, cable car pricing moves to two tiers on 4 January: a $12 one-way fare and an $18 Cable Car Plus pass, instead of the flat $15 fare first proposed.^[1]
