TSMC began building its first Arizona fab in April 2021 and has since added fabs in Japan, Germany and Taiwan. This thread follows each fab build in order of construction start, with sourced dates, costs where published, and status.

Fab 1 is the first wafer fab on TSMC's north Phoenix campus, the plant behind the original US$12 billion Arizona announcement. Construction began in April 2021, the first production tools moved in at a December 2022 ceremony attended by President Biden, and TSMC reports high-volume N4 production in the fourth quarter of 2024 with yields comparable to its Taiwan fabs. A labor shortage had pushed its start from late 2024 to 2025 before the schedule recovered.

JASM Fab 1 in Kikuyo, Kumamoto is TSMC's first Japanese fab, a joint venture with Sony Semiconductor Solutions and DENSO. Ground was broken in April 2022, the building was reported complete in January 2024, and the plant opened on 24 February 2024. Mass production began in December 2024. A magnitude-7.1 earthquake on 28 July 2026 halted it briefly, and TSMC reported full production again on 3 August 2026.

TSMC Fab 22 in the Nanzih Technology Industrial Park, Kaohsiung, is planned as five wafer-fabrication phases and is where TSMC's 2nm volume production is centred. Construction started on 21 November 2022 after land grading, and TSMC put the five-phase investment at NT$1.5 trillion. Phases 1 and 2 are running or in trial production while Phases 3 to 5 are still being built, with all five reported targeted for full operation by Q4 2027. A steel-hoisting fall at the Phase 4 site on 20 October 2026 halted steel work.

TSMC Fab 25 is a planned four-fab A14 (1.4nm) site on the second-phase expansion land of the Central Taiwan Science Park in Taichung. TSMC filed its notice to start construction on 17 October 2025, and pile works began on 5 November 2025 without a public ceremony. The first fab is targeted for risk production by the end of 2027 and volume production in the second half of 2028. TSMC has not published a cost.

Fab 4 is the fourth wafer fab planned for TSMC's north Phoenix campus, slated for N2 and A16 processes. The City of Phoenix reported in May 2026 that initial construction had started the month before. TSMC has not published a completion or production date; CEO C.C. Wei says schedules follow market conditions and customer demand.

AP1 is the first of two advanced-packaging facilities TSMC plans for its north Phoenix campus, so leading-edge wafers made in Arizona need not be shipped to Taiwan for packaging. The City of Phoenix reported in May 2026 that initial construction had started the month before. No opening date or cost has been confirmed.

Comcast filed WARN notices from 29 October covering 159 jobs in Washington, 634 in Philadelphia, 119 in New Jersey and 82 in California, about 994 in all, after saying it would book a Q4 restructuring charge of more than US$1 billion.

The positions and wind speeds are the Joint Typhoon Warning Center's own warnings, compiled by NASA's Earth Observatory Natural Event Tracker (EONET). The storm was still listed as active at the time of the last update.
