Update 2 October: Trump rejected the plan (Time interview, via Al Jazeera[2][3]), so the 7-day clock has not started and 3 October no longer holds; the date stays only as the plan's earliest possible day.
Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi offered to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and restart talks at the end of seven days, counted from the day after the US accepts terms taken from June's Islamabad memorandum. Washington has not accepted, so 3 October is the earliest the strait could open. Update, 2 October: Trump rejected the plan, so the strait will not open on that timetable.
