Arm Launches the AGI CPU, Its First Own Silicon in 35 Years
- Arm said on 24 March 2026 that it is extending its compute platform into production silicon for the first time, beginning with the Arm AGI CPU, an Arm-designed CPU for agentic AI data centres[1]
- The chip offers up to 136 Arm Neoverse V3 cores, 6GB/s of memory bandwidth per core and a 300-watt TDP, with up to 8,160 cores per air-cooled rack and 45,000+ cores in liquid-cooled systems[1]
- Arm claims more than 2x performance per rack versus x86 CPUs and up to US$10 billion of capital-expenditure savings per gigawatt of AI data centre capacity; these are Arm's own comparisons[1]
- Meta is the lead partner and co-developer, and Arm said more than 50 companies back the move, including AWS, Broadcom, Google, Micron, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Samsung, SK hynix and TSMC[1][5]
- By Arm's 6 May earnings release customer demand for the chip exceeded US$2 billion across fiscal 2027 and 2028, more than double the figure given at launch[3]

Something missing or wrong? Say it in your own words: a link that backs this pin up, a different start or end date and why, or a fact it lacks or gets wrong. The AI checks it against this pin's sources, searches for better ones, and adds any page that backs you up. The pin's own sources still count most. A picture that shows something else, or shows it badly, is looked at too, and moved down or replaced.
