Fairview Crossroads LLC proposes a ~750,000 sq ft, ~$500M data center in Fairview Township. On June 28, the Board of Supervisors approved a zoning ordinance change to allow data centers as a conditional use.
Peach Bottom will host a $5 billion data center project on the site of Calpine's existing 828 MW York 2 Energy Center. Not much information has been made public about this proposal yet.
Chicago-based LBT Investment Group LLC has submitted a data center proposal in Sugarloaf Township, amid another unrelated proposal for a 12-mile PPL transmission line that has drawn public criticism. Sugarloaf Township previously denied LBT’s request, prompting the company to pursue legal action and negotiations with township officials, which ultimately led to proposed amendment to the township's zoning ordinance. The township counsel indicated that zoning law requires municipalities to allow and regulate all types of land uses, even those that are unpopular.
