Estimate from the variant's published specs, 0-5; scores are only comparable within one criteria year. Variant: 747-8 Intercontinental (GEnx-2B67, MTOW 987,000 lb). Range 5 from 7,730 nmi (Wikipedia 747-8; interpolation 4.8). Capacity 5 from Boeing's typical 467 seats in three classes (ACAPS Rev E). Speed 4 from Mach 0.855. Runway 2 from the ACAPS sea-level standard-day takeoff graph, about 10,000 ft. Efficiency null: no fuel-burn figure. Comfort 3.5: Lufthansa business-class reviews praise upper-deck privacy and quiet but fault the 2-2-2 layout.[4]
The 747-8 is one terrific airplane to fly, equal to the triple seven, if not even now my favorite, at least for some missions.
When we built the 747-8, we dialed it in to fly like the models before it as well.
Because of the design of the upper deck, with the galley and staircase at the rear of the cabin, the forward seats have the most privacy and quiet.
there is a certain visceral thrill to being on the top deck of a 747, because of the privacy it affords.
