George Lucas's museum of narrative art opens to the public on 22 September 2026 in Exposition Park, after a build that ran years past its first target date. It is given over to storytelling as art - illustration, comics, film and the painted image side by side - rather than to a single medium, and it lands beside the Natural History Museum and the California Science Center in the city's museum quarter.
